McKinney Engineering is a specialized electrical consulting company in the Puget Sound construction industry. The Company concentrates on dry utility (electrical and communications) coordination both in the right of way and within the building. The objective is to begin coordination with both the Electrical Utility and the Communication Providers early in the project to reduce project schedule and modifications to the project design.

Projects Murray has worked on during his career
Murray McKinney Jr, P.E.
Murray Jr. wanted to be an electrical engineer ever since he was a child. His father, Murray Sr., instilled Murray's passion for electrical engineering at an early age. Murray's grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather also worked for NW Pacific Bell in the Puget Sound area dating back to 1890.
Murray graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2008. He completed three internships at Sparling (now Stentec) during his time at the University. He loved the industry and started his career at Sparling after college.
Murray worked for Sparling from 2008 - 2012 designing electrical systems in hospitals, commercial/retail, and residential projects. He left Sparling to work for his father's company "McKinney & Associates" in 2012 to learn specialized engineering knowledge related to dry utility coordination. He also received his Professional Engineering License at this time.
Murray has worked with his father from 2012-2017 absorbing his knowledge of the industry and then started his own company as Murray Senior was semi-retiring.
Murray is enthusiastic to work in the electrical and communication construction industry and is appreciative towards the University of Washington, Sparling Co-Workers, and especially his father for all the values they have instilled and the knowledge they have bestowed.
